From Booklist
For decades, Jan Stoddard has been physically and emotionally abused by her husband, Rex, a pillar of their Topeka religious and business community. Finally, summoning unimagined courage, Jan quietly works with an aid organization to plan her escape, but on the very night she hopes to flee, a fire destroys the family’s home. Out of town that night, Rex remains unaccounted for, while Jan manages to travel to Asheville and a surprise reunion with the daughter who was banished years before. With help from daughter Harmony’s friend Taylor, Jan makes a new home—one, however, that may be threatened by a new man in Taylor’s life. Always alert to the possibility that Rex will track her down, Jan is unprepared for the news of his death and subsequent accusations that she is guilty of murder and insurance fraud. Portraying the uncomfortable subject of domestic abuse with unflinching thoroughness and tender understanding, Richards’ (Somewhere between Luck and Trust, 2013) third installment in the Goddesses Anonymous series offers important insights into a far too prevalent social problem. --Carol Haggas

A MUST READ!!!
By Susan R
No River too Wide is about domestic violence and recovery from it. It is an extremely well written and deeply emotional book and a must read for everyone. Janine Stoddard finally gets the courage to leave her husband after years of abuse and goes to Asheville NC to let her daughter Harmony know that she is ok before she disappears again. She is afraid that her husband will find her and harm both she and her daughter. The novel is about her healing and her daughter's healing and the wonderful friends around them that help them find peace. We also get to catch up with all of the characters from the previous two Goddess books. This is book 3 in the Goddesses Anonymous series and even though it can be read as a stand alone, it will have a much greater impact if you read the first two books before you read this one. This is a fantastic book!

Emilie Richards is one of my favorite authors and this series is one of my favorites ...
By L. Staley
Emilie Richards is one of my favorite authors and this series is one of my favorites of hers. I like her writing because she creates fully formed people who are so real and who respond to life as anyone would.

She always includes social issues in with whatever story and romance is in the book. This book, the third in the Goddesses Anonymous, is no exception. It's an intricate and totally engaging story about an abused woman and her daughter set among characters of the previous books.

I really, really enjoyed this story. It just sucked me in and I felt like I was watching a story about people I had come to know.
