i disagree harriett,,this is one stinker of a book!!!

AFTER TEX by Sheryl Woods COULD have been a wonderful book. the storyline was there, the wonderful, wacky humerous characters were there. WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS BOOK! well i'll tell you what didn't happen, nothing was ever concluded. the storyline was a wonderful idea, and the characters that were introduced, from the little girl who was the heriones aunt, to the herione's male secretary...all these were wonderful characters. too many conflicts got in the way of the romance and to top it all off, i was reading what i thought to be the NEXT TO THE LAST chapter and then i turned the page for the last chapter or epiloge and guess what,,,it wasn't there. i couldn't believe it.
Ms. Woods, i can't believe this was turned in as a finished book. it was so unsatifying a conclusion, with just about every major conflict left hanging, that i threw the book across the room.
i can honestly say that most of ms. woods books i have really enjoyed. this one however, will leave many readers angry because of the constant conflicts set up. so many that they there doesn't seem to be any room left over for building any type of relationship between the main characters.
i was hopelessly disappointed in this book. i blame the editor for this one. it should have been sent back to be finished before publication.

A great ranch romance

Renowned TV and magazine host Meg O'Rourke leaves New York City for her childhood home in Wyoming to attend the funeral of her beloved grandfather Tex. In Wyoming, Meg meets the only person she ever loved, Jake Landers, who she still feels betrayed her years ago when her grandfather accused him of stealing cattle. She is soon shocked to learn Tex sired a little girl, Tess.
The will names Meg as Tess' guardian to be raised on the Wyoming ranch, but Meg runs a New York-based empire. However, Meg, who always needed to belong somewhere, begins to fall in love with her little charge. She rearranges her lifestyle to spend time with Tess. As she flies back and forth, she realizes she still loves Jake in spite of her belief that he failed her. Jake returns her love, but wonders if that is enough when trust may be more important of an attribute.
Best selling author Sherryl Woods writes an exciting contemporary romance that focuses on the struggle of love to survive when the relationship lacks trust. Readers will enjoy Meg's return to her Wyoming roots after taking the Big Apple by storm. However, what turns this AFTER TEX into a beautiful love story is the wonderful cast, who prove that love by itself is not enough.

Texas-Sized Disappointment

The plot is one more of the four standard romance story lines. Girl comes back -- temporarily, she thinks -- to the small town she fled years before. Circumstances conspire to keep her at home and too close to the dangerous male whose touch renders her helpless. In After Tex, the formula becomes a tired one. The hero is stripped of his danger too early on. There are too many subplots and too many characters. To make matters worse, the author's descriptions of the interaction between the main characters were insipid. If you like your romances hot, skip this one.
