Here I fell in love with Icicle Falls. Colin and Mia were childhood sweethearts until Mia went away to college. With distance between them Colin developed trust issues and they soon parted ways. Both of them were too stubborn to contact the other to see if things could be worked out. Colin moved to Seattle and got a warehouse job. Mia moved to Chicago and is climbing the corporate ladder. As time went on neither of them has been able to really commit to another relationship. It seems the other one was always in the back of their mind. They blamed each other for all the hurt they went through and did not want a repeat.
It is now more than ten years later and Colin and Mia have returned to Icicle Falls for Grams funeral. Gram always thought these two belonged together and would someday marry. It never happened while she was alive. Per Grams will Colin and Justine must go on a treasure hunt in order to receive their inheritance. As stipulated they must go together with no outside help. What a wonderful adventure this is as we follow along with them.
This is a really sweet love story. There really are second chances and you can go home again. This is my first book by this author but I am sure there is a return trip to Icicle Falls in my future.

The loss of a loved one is tragic, painful and can be life-altering. In the case of “Home on Apple Blossom Road” it can also be an opportunity to erase past hurts and move forward to a new life. There is no better place to start a new life with the one you love than in Icicle Falls. Shelia Roberts adds depth to the inner workings of the plot as we read letters Justine had written to other family members over the course of her life. Letters that celebrated life’s joys and adventures to other losses including her own impending end. When Justine passes away, the legacy she leaves behind is timeless, the clues that help Mia and Colin rekindle their love and begin a new life is precious.

I enjoy the characters

Having lived in WA state for 12 years I know the area well that is featured in the Icicle Falls books. I enjoy the characters, the descriptions of the town and all the lives that intertwine. Thank you, Shelia Roberts, for taking me back to the NW which I love!
